What a game night

Our Board Game Group

Every four weeks we take over Kardia Cafe after hours with a pile of board games. No prior experience needed, rules are explained on the spot. Games are picked on the day and night to suit the group and the numbers.

With a bigger crowd we run a few tables at once. Everybody helps each other out in whatever language they can. We keep the games fairly simple and quick. The kind you can learn in 5-10 minutes and then play in under an hour.

People often ask what games we play. Below is the list of games we have played in the past. Some have become favourites and some only made one appearance. We are always open to new games, so if you have a game you want to bring, please do!

Just to give you a better idea, some of our recent favourite games are: Flip 7, Art Robbery, Bandido, Marrakech, Codenames, Wolf, Dixit, Sequence. This is either because they're easy to pick up or allow a bigger group of people to play, which people tend to like to do. Occasionally a few of us manage to sneak into a corner to play a more complex game.

Do you play Wolf (狼人杀)? This is a question that I get a ton from the Chinese audience. The answer is: yes, sometimes, if people want to play. But I never lead Wolf game. If you want to lead it, you're welcome to.
